Registration of traders fishing nets is one of the ways to reduce illegal fishing and illegal exploitation of fish resources. Fishing gear manufacturers and sellers are registered in such a way as to limit the number of buyers and sellers and the number of sales outlets. Fishing gear shall only be marketed in accordance with procedures specified in regulatory enactments in the case of registered fishermen who can produce a fishing licence to fish in the preparation of the network, thereby reducing the purchase and neprovocējot illegal fishing, as well as reducing incentives for the conduct of fishing nets for illicit importation into the Republic of Latvia.

Process description

  1. Service requests
    Onsite service may require, by post or email (sending an application with secure electronic signature, otherwise the application will be considered only as informative material and will need a signed application in paper format).

    The trading venue shall submit an application for registration of fishing nets. The submission shall indicate the way in which he or she wishes to receive authorisation.

    The Office shall issue a permit or take a decision regarding the failure to issue a permit within 20 days from the time of receipt of the application.

    Information regarding the registered trading place shall be placed on the website of the State Environmental Service within a period of 5 days.

  2. Receipt of services
    The service is received in accordance with the application of choice. The customer receives a registration certificate/registration and inclusion in the list of manufacturers of fishing networks in paper form (in the form of a block or by post) or in the form of an electronic document (e-mail)
